Amivantamab
Amivantamab is a tablet and you take it orally. It works as follows:-
Amivantamab is a type of antibody that works to fight cancer. It attaches to two different proteins on the surface of cancer cells called epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET). By binding to these proteins, amivantamab blocks their ability to receive signals, which slows down the growth of cancer cells. In models with specific mutations, amivantamab also helps break down EGFR and MET proteins, further weakening the cancer cells. Importantly, by targeting EGFR and MET, amivantamab helps activate the body's immune cells like natural killer cells and macrophages to attack and destroy the cancer cells.
