BCG
BCG It is a cloudy liquid that is given through a small tube into the bladder. It works as follows:-
BCG is a type of bacteria that has been weakened so it can't cause disease. It's used as a treatment for certain types of cancer. BCG works in several ways against tumors. It triggers a strong immune response in the body, leading to the formation of granulomas (clusters of immune cells) at the site of injection. This immune response helps destroy tumor cells directly. Additionally, BCG activates specific immune cells called histiocytes, which play a role in killing cancer cells. It also boosts both specific and nonspecific immune responses, leading to inflammation that helps destroy tumors. This treatment can also stimulate a broader immune response throughout the body, but it's not entirely clear how this affects the effectiveness of the treatment. Overall, BCG helps activate immune cells like T-lymphocytes and releases signaling molecules called cytokines, which all work together to fight cancer.
